I played hookie today from work to go fishing (well actually I took a personal holiday). Initially I headed to Dog Lake, to check on the ice situation. It is finally thawed and fish-able, however, at that elevation it was so cold my hands were going numb (I didn't think to bring gloves). Needless to say, I pointed my car in the direction of Clear Lake. I fished the North end of the lake, by the dam/ spillway. Fishing was consistent and I got bites every five to ten minutes. I ended up catching and releasing my five fish limit. All fish were stockers, about eleven or twelve inches -- nothing impressive. There were a few boats in the lake and one other bank fisherman. The only fish I saw caught today were mine. I was using fluorescent pink power eggs with a decent size weight, size six hook and about two feet of liter. The weather was much nicer at this elevation to, so it was a good day. I didn't take any pictures, because we all know what a stocker rainbow looks like.
