I went to Woodhouse again in search of some Largemouth. I fished the same ponds as in my other two posts in this series of ponds. It was difficult fishing with a jig and grub -- these little ponds are becoming engulfed in weeds. That said, I decided to let the weeds win and fished with a Rebel Pop-R on the surface. There were many fish jumping today (I'm assuming bass), but the action was slow. I caught one, and missed one. The fish in the picture was a two pounder. I saw a fish rise about two feet from the shore to the left of me. I gently casted my pop-r in that direction, gave my pop-r a few jerks and waited. There was complete silence for about thirty seconds, and then suddenly a bass came flying out of the water and devoured my lure. This was the first bass I had caught on a top water lure, so it was pretty exciting! Anyone wanting to fish these ponds better do so soon, the water is beginning to feel like bath water. The other picture is of three turtles on logs that I saw. I also saw a good sized water snake, but didn't get a picture.
