This is the first evening I didn’t baby sit my grandson so I thought I would go fishing. I asked my son if he wanted to go and where. Even though I was real tired after I came home from work he hooked up the boat got every thing ready to go. What lake? He chose to go to Lake Whitman (he gets to drive). He hasn’t been there in a couple years and I haven’t been since last year. We were the only ones on the lake although 2 private docks had people fishing from them. It was a little windy and showery. Adam used a Zak worm spinner with part of the real thing attached and I used a fly but then switched to the Salmon Roe Z-Ray. We started at 5:30pm and quit about 7pm. Air temp was 50 and the water temp was 64. I checked the water temperature twice. At maybe 6:15 we made a half pass by the island when Adam hooked one and got it into the boat then we went around the lake again. Just as we were getting to the ramp to leave Adam gets one on. It was the biggest fish for either of us this year. It was 15 inches and a pound and half. Good way to end this cold fishing trip. I was out fished by my son again. That is ok…he gets to clean the fish this time.
