Hi All, this is my first post. I'm fairly new to Pine lake. Fished it last Saturday mid-day and caught 5 in a couple hours trolling a red flatfish at about 10 feet in depth. Decided to take the wife and daughter out last night. Launched about 6pm. Made a couple rounds of the lake with a red flatfish and a green/yellow flatfish. No luck on the first round, then tried changing speeds and depths, even tried a gold PantherMartin (my lucky lure). Called it a day on our second trip around and then my wife hooked a rainbow on the red flatfish just before we got back to the launch (around 7:30pm). It was about 12 inches and a nice fighter. C&R for next time. Slow fishing, but didn't try really hard as my daughter was done and wanted to go in after the first hour. At least we got one to keep the spirits up....that's a good thing where the wife is concerned.
Saw a guy just out from the launch in a boat fishing a bobber and he was hooking them regular about this time too. Not sure if he was using bait or not. If not for our daughter, we probably would have kept trying until dark.
As an observation and rant, there were several people on the dock fishing (as usual)...saw two teenagers who had been fishing from the dock get picked up by their mom while we were launching....they had a stringer full of rainbows which they proceeded to dump in the nearest trash can! Overheard them tell her that they caught their limit and no one on the dock wanted them. If I was not alone with my daughter at the time, I would have gone over and given them my opinion about that. If that were my mom, the poles would have been snapped in two and put in the trash not to be returned.
