Non-commital was the word of the day at Beaver. There were plenty of bites to be had by all I talked to on the water, but getting 'em to actually take the hook was a wholly different story. I managed to land two 9" LMB the entire afternoon/evening. I had the best luck using weightless soft plastics. The weeds haven't quite come in yet, so the bass are a little harder to find since the baitfish are still scattered about. I only spotted what looked like two bass beds, so the lake is still pre-spawn.
Today was my first time fishing from a kayak, so it was a bit of a learning experience. The water has finally warmed up, enough so that you could wade comfortably. I met quite few fellow basser's and had a great time despite the lackluster bite. Beaver should definitely be hot here in the next week or so. If those darn lily pads would just grow a little faster...
