Got to the Lake at 6:30 AM, fished from the shore near the boat launch. First cast landed me a rainbow. All in all my buddy and I caught and released several bows. They were hitting almost any color power eggs. Fl orange and yellow seemed the best. The weather was fantastic. We finally left at 11:00 AM. Both of us had a limit. Most of the fish ran between 9-11 inches with a couple around 14 inches. With the great weather and good fishing we both had a great time.

Sounds like a good trip.
Try not to release trout on powerbait next time though :)

I agree. Remember that the fish released on bait count toward your limit of 5 fish daily. So if you release 3 on power eggs and then proceed to keep your limit of 5 using this method, it is illegal. Just an FYI.

How did the water feel?? Did it feel cold?

Why not try to release the trout on bait JT? If they swallow it then you can cut the line and at least give them some chance of survival rather than keeping it and knowing it won't live. I'm not saying catch and release on bait until you get bored, but catch and release your 5 and it's all good.

Cause the power eggs and hook choke the fish to death and they die off anyways...oh well, more bass bait for TAZ's lunker this year! Cheer to that! KTK

Planter trout are meant to be kept...
