MY BROTHER, NEPHEW AND I WENT TO DOWNS MONDAY MORNING, AND HAD THE LAKE TO OURSELVES. OF COURSE THE WIND AND IMPENDING RAIN MAY HAVE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT. WE GOT ADVISE TO TROLL FOR THE PERCH, SINCE THEY WERE NOT IN THE COVER YET, IT WAS GREAT ADVISE. ALTHOUGH, WITH ONLY AN ELECTRIC MOTOR, WE HAD TO MODIFY THAT METHOD OF FISHING (AS THE WIND HAD ITS WAY WITH US). FROM THE LAUNCH WE HEADED WEST ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE LAKE. WE DROPPED THE ANCHORS AND STARTED CASTING, MAKING SURE TO COVER ALL THE WATER WE COULD. WE WOULD MOVE ABOUT 30 YARDS WHEN THE ACTION GOT TOO SLOW AND DROP ANCHOR AGAIN. WE ENDED UP WITH 16 IN THE LIVEWELL( PLUS A FEW THAT WE TOSSED BACK).
WE'LL BE BAAACK!!!
