Well, This was my second time fly fishing, and the first after upgrading from my Big 5 special to a really nice Sage FLi 9'6" 4pc, I started out with a woolly bugger in black and green with WF6S fly line, Floated and kicked around for a bit. I made it around the lake and then.....Fish on......I was stoked, and what you asked did I do next? Snatch (like i was fishing for bass or something), I let the fly line go and what a mess to follow, My friend kept shouting "grab the line, keep it tight!" Well, I got control of things and pulled in a nice 10in trout (not much but still fun). Soon after that....Fish on again! This time I think I did it right, I just kept stripping in the line....didn't even touch the fly reel. That was my last fish caught....the first two of the day! My friend kept getting closer and closer to my "spot" then I lost my lucky fly (the black and green woolly bugger) Tippet and all (bad knot I guess). My friend then proceeded to pull in 5 trout from 10 to 15 inches. I think I like fly fishing, Always something to do.

you have got a couple of good bass lakes around in your county. What line size is your rod? Get a "gaines brand" sneaky pete in a size 10 ,A black one for night fishing and a red one for daY time(just to put the odds in your favor). These are a kind of 'slider popper' and are fun to cast. You will have a blast catching bass on that rod! Cupped face poppers would also be good to have in the same size or #8. I am giving you somthing to look forward to this summer. fish at dark for shure in july or august! Some of my best bass action is at 10 pm or so. Keep some spare batteries on hand for headlamp as you may stay out longer than you thought you would! Piscapaul
