First time out with "Joe" from Darrell & Dad Guide Service, Great day for all! Perfect weather (no rain, light wind) Joe is a true professional that was kind enough to share his knowledge of Rufus Woods. This time we didn't get the lunker we know this lake holds but, still back at the dock with limits, really caught some nice fish. Other boats doing OK but I don't think anyone matched C & R of 40 fat trout. Trolling dark colored flies the most effective for us.

The flies were definitely working as well as the sinking fly line. We C & R well over 50 fat trout between 3 guys. We caught fish jigging, fly fishing, and trolling w/ special spinners. It is pretty bad when guys are complaining about catching 2 pounders left and right....but that is what we were doing in search of the monsters. We landed a few 3 and 4 pounders but it was nothing like it has been in the past when everything was over 5 pounds.
