I started fishing around 9am and quit at 2:30. The lake was like glass at first then a wind came up about 12 and it blew on and off until I left. Had bites right away but it took a while to get any fish in the boat. The water temperature was 52-54. I caught 4 trout and 1 perch. This first perch of the season was small so I let it go.
I hooked several trout that jumped and got away. I hooked the trout on a fast retrieve using various spinners and a spoon. I caught the last 2 trout on a bobber-nightcrawler rig and the perch drifting a nightcrawler. I would have had an early day if I could have kept those that got away.

Thanks for the report Toni! What kind of hooks are on those lures? Are those single hooks homemade?

Only the big silver one is homemade. The hooks are Matsuo Octopus. The 2 treble are Blue Fox's, The 2nd from the right is a Wittmann Z-Ray salmon roe. I always get hits on the Z-ray but I have yet to get one in the boat. I thought it was the treble hook it came with but I didn't get one yesterday with it although it was hooked and jumping until it came off.
