Wind was the operative word for the day. Steady 20mph with gusts to 35mph. Whitecaps! Whew! I was in my float tube and managed to kick back and forth, around the lake, for about 3-4 hours. Lots of work! The fish were hard to catch that day. I hooked and released only 2, very fat 17" rainbows. I hooked them on a variation of a Carey special I tied up. Yellow/black variegated body, mallard flank tail and hackle. Size 6 2xl hook.
Lots of fight in these 2 fish. I will blame the low catch numbers on the weather, but I probably just am a bad fisherman.
Good luck to all!
