I braved the season opener for the first time in over 20 years. Yes, there were other folks on the lake, but all in all, we weren't ever crowded and everyone was courteous and friendly. My son brought a friend along - first timer, so of course he scored the first catch, the biggest fish, and the most fish. I let the boys do the fishing while I played with my new trolling motor rigged onto the rubber raft. We trolled Rooster Tails near the surface. I saw fish caught on fly gear from float tubes and on worms beneath a bobber from shore. Everything worked as it should, it was a beautiful day, and I got to introduce another youngster to the love of fishing.
