Marc and I hit Buck lake around 7-8 am.The wind was blowing and cold, too cold to bass fish and fight the wind. So we trolled around the north end catching lots of stockers. Started to the boat launch and landed a keeper but let it go with the rest of them. Water temp 47* used top water trout and black and silver rapalas. We were the only people on the lake. Good fishing!!

I was kind of confused when I saw a report on Buck. I was thinking you were just going to report a trout stock. shawn is absolutely right, you were fishing a closed lake.

Whoops! Good thing we didn't caught! And a good thing we don't keep trout, our bad!We didn't have the regs with us.The state will put gates on lakes that are open and leave closed lakes wide open? I don't like the way that the state has bass year around but we can't fish for bass in a lake that doesn't open until the trout open. We will keep a better eye on the regs. Sorry guys, not trying to get a jump on trout,or closed lakes.

My buddy ended up doing the same thing at a lake in EA wa. He saw some people fishing from shore so he joined them. $109 fine. The warden let him keept he fish, he got LUCKY. They aren't so kind on the westside. Let that be a lesson learned. haha.

Yeah it happens.Luck was on yalls side that day.I believe the only lakes open yaer around in Kitsap County are Island,Kitsap and Long.Them are the only ones I know of I don't think I missed any.Saturday it's game on for all the lakes in our area.

Yep, Kitsap, Long and Island in Kitsap County. Honestly, you probably could fish Buck Lake year round and never get checked. With it being all the way at the tip of the Pennisula the wardens don't venture out there that often. I have fished this lake since I was old enough to breath and I have never seen an official. Now, come peek salmon times they will be out in force at Point No Point and they will go to Buck from time to time. I think it's funny. I'm glad you guys had a good time and didn't get a ticket. I would just recommend checking regs, not because we think that you will poach but because we don't want to see you get a fat ticket.

I do love Buck Lake though. Hope to see ya on the water Trent.
