Went to the lake WA today tried a bobber worm nothing trout rolling here and there??. Switched over to slip sinker rig 4 foot 6lb leader nothing for a while then as I was reeling in got good hit right at the bank appeared to be a small trout probably 5 inches or so. Was fishing power egg and worm combo fished for a while longer got hit couple more times then gave up went home seem the movement got strikes more then sitting and waiting. Fished week earlier before the weird snow and hail we just got hooked up with 7 trout on bobber and worm with secret scent that seemed to turn them on only landed 5 a mix of cutthroat and rainbows between 8 and 12 inches long. Kept only two cuts for a little grilling action they where the first fish of the year for me. lot fish rolling long cast seemed to be the key also further out past where the weed line is deep end. No weeds yet need more sun but fish seem to be cruising looking for baby salmon fry or what ever they can catch when active. Best time of day seemed to be between 11:00am and 3:00. Talked to another guy that was fishing as I left that day hooked and lost a nice 14incher.

I fish this lake religiously. 10am through to 3pm are the hot bite times. That gives you a 5 hour window. Right now it's all about salmon smolt entering the lake. There are some HUGE fish out there right now as I type this, just gorging on feed - but they are fussy fish, and selective eaters.

more reasons to practice c & r. the fish consumption advisory of wa state reports that high pcb levels in fish caught in lake wa. so please limit your consumptions.

yea but i dont know about c&r all your fish thats just going to eat up all the salmon fry does that make much sense to you? You should still take your limit and freeze them up to becarefull of your pcb consumption. I would rather the salmon fry thrive them worry about a couple cutts or bows taken in one day!

I like C&R, but that is of course after I have enough to smoke up in my freezer :) C&R is a lot of fun, but I respect the anglers choice to keep fish legally.

becareful about pcb levels is more of a health concern from the wa state fish advisory.

That's a good point too turbo. You have to be careful of the PCB's. If only eaten once a month you're ok, but don't feed them to children...that's not right.
