Started about 7:30 am. Headed across the lake from the boat launch, and began fishing the North shore and heading west with the wind. Water temps were 54-57 degrees!! We were throwing spinnerbaits mainly, with the occasional power worm and jig....
My buddy caught the first bass, a 4lb'er....I caught the next two, a 5.5lb'er and a 5.8lb'er, then it went flat! We fished pretty much an entire lap with only one other strike, but what a strike, my buddy fought this sucker as it ran around and under the boat, then out deep, then back shallow....when he finally caught a glimpse of it he knew it was his biggest ever!!!!
I dropped everything and landed it for him, what a beauty......7.8lbs of female largemouth!!! My scale works in increments of .1-1.0....so each .1 is actually equal to 1.6 ounces....so I did the math and that bass weighed 7lbs 13ounces respectively....Good job Darin!!! That also means he beat my best ever by .2 ounces!! Looks like I need to keep fishing!! Sweet!
