So I made it out to the lake around five and fished from the shore. Initially I got a good hit and caught an especially small planter. He was small, however, he was a welcome side dish to my breakfast of Raisin Bran the next day. I stayed out there for a good couple hours and only got one other bite. What I learned is this: The trick to this lake is power eggs. People tend to do better in boats because the fish tend to stick out more towards the center of the lake and are pretty far from the shore. The trick to that, is to get one of those Y-shaped swivels with the three rings on it and to attach a big (ounce and a 1/4) weight to it. Then use about a 1-2 foot leader with a bait hook with some of the yellowish/green power eggs. I might head back again, but I didn't have a particularly grand trip. Not to mention that I got a little lost on my way out because I'm not from around there. But if you have the right gear and want to catch those early planters than I suggest you try it out.
