Took the pontoon out for a row around Killarney. I heard it was just planted and this was my first time there. There was only one other boat and a guy in a float tube.
I started out casting a gold Kastmaster with no luck. I then switched to a homemade spoon and fly combo. The first fish broke the rusty hook off my homemade fly just as I got it to the boat. I then put on a brown nymph looking fly. I quickly caught 5 more and headed home. The biggest was 10.5", they were all about the same. I missed a lot of strikes, they were really hitting well up past the first island. I didn't see any other fish caught while I was there.
A warning for float tubers. The launch area is shallow and really weedy. If you are going to get to where most of the trout are, you are going to have to kick through a lot of weeds and travel to the bigger part of the lake. The guy I saw in a float tube never even made it that far.
I included a photo of my setup. I used about 6 inches of leader between a fly and a hookless Canadian wonder with a pink dot painted on it.
