Thanks to tnj2222's advice I hit up Boren today. Caught 2 nice 11" bows in 2 hours worth of fishing using two power eggs. I didn't see any risers. Is that common? (to not see risers)... I'm new to this lake and I was told it hold my wonderful cutthroat trout in it, can someone confirm this?! I saw a nice creek that flows into the lake and perhaps some fish hold outside this creek's mouth as that's where I got my hits. I may go back with some worms this weekend. I forgot the digital, but they weren't anything to write home about. I love Lake Boren; so peaceful.

Nice job on the fish. Caught a limit there today myself.

Also saw a fellow fishing with two rods, today from 4:00 to 7:00. Have seen him before. He fishes one rod with a bobber and bait, and another rod plunking. There are others that I see all the time doing the same thing (two rods). One guy comes real early in the morning at day break. I think I'll send an email to WDFW enforcement and give them the physical description of the fellow, and maybe they'll get the wardens out there. Mr. Lawbreaker: if you are reading this post... shame on you... don't get too comfy fishing the two rods... the warden might be hiding behind the bushes next time.

Nice job Shad_Eating_Grin -- report that guy to WDFW...that's unacceptable. How long did it take you to limit? I seem to catch them at 1 per hour, but I always go during the afternoon. Better yet, call WDFW, or 911 and report the poaching as it is taking place. This needs to stop, as Boren is a pretty little lake that doesn't need this...thanks for keeping "an eye out." Good work.

The Boren fish have been real finicky for me this year. Must be the cold weather--in years past, I could get a limit real quick. This year, I've had to work hard for bites.

Took me about 2 hours to get a limit. I hooked a real nice fish on my first cast and he wrapped around a sunken branch and I had to break off my line. It was a nice holdover size fish. Then, no bites for the next 1.5 hours. Finally, after casting fruitlessly around different spots, I found a small area right up against the shore (maybe 10 x 10 feet square) where some fishes were hanging out. Got bites on every cast until I limited. 2 holdovers and 3 stockers. All on power bait. Lost a couple nice ones too in that area. If I casted outside of that small pocket/area, no bites.

With regards to the lawbreaker, he's an older (Asian) male (between 45-55? years old) and carries a cooler with him. Yesterday, he was wearing a gray parka. "Pretends" that he doesn't speak English. But I guess he understands enough of the rules to know how to break them (he didn't start using the two rods, until there were less people/witnesses on the dock).

The one time I went there this year I saw a guy with the two rod deal also. I know that on the bottom of your fishing license there is a number to call for poachers. I think if we all start calling when we see these guys, and they get a few complaints they will send someone out to put a stop to it. When I was out the other day it was cold, got a couple hits but no fish. Will be out there again when it warms up maybe later today.

If I see this I'm calling 911 then they can dispatch the call to WSP then WDFW. Poaching is a heinous crime. Shame on you if you're reading this...if I see it I'm calling.
