After I and my subs completed some work today, it was time to cast at a few of the fish that were rising.
Even though the water was 200 feet deep, and near the log boom, there was a small midge hatch going on and the big old bows were apparently hungry. I fished about an hour, caught 6, missed many that were just touching the spinners or following to the boat.
The key was, well, to get a line in the water. I kept two 5 pounders for dinner and headed home.
Note to self, if I need to get into the water to attach my boat next time, bring hip boots. The water was only 37 degrees, and in tennis shoes, that is COLD.
The water was like glass most of the day. There were a lot of people at the public park downstream of the boat launch near the dam. There were probably 15 boat trailers parked in the boat launch area.
