Woohoo! Finally my first largemouth of the season!! Water temps were 45-48 degrees. Caught this nice little 3.1lb'er on a jig near a dock in about 6 feet of water. I also saw 4 others, 2 little 16 inchers and a big female about 5lbs or so, she swam off as I approached a dock. Move slow, fish seem very spooky, also, move your bait as little and as slowly as possible.....that's what finally worked for me! Here we go......

Thats a good fish ! Keep it up. Is that public launch still a pain in the a$$ for a 2wd vehicle ?

Nice! And, it's nice to know those ol' lethargic lunkers are stirring around the shorelines again. It's been a long, cold winter.

Thanks for the comments!! Actually the launch at Big Lake has had some major work done! They installed a one lane paved launch with a new dock that runs along side it.....not sure how it will be come mid-summer? High and dry? Also, you have to account for how slick they can get during heavy use...especially with a 2 wheel drive. They also installed a nice new toilet facility, which was desperately needed, however...they installed it smack dab in the middle of the parking lot, and cost us about 3 parking spaces!! Oh well, at least we have a place to p**p!
