Threw my jon boat in Elton after work for a couple of hours just to see if there were any fish left to be caught.I took along my portable depth finder just to check out this lake because i had never been out in it in a boat.Lots of weeds had to troll shallow diving jerkbait to keep out of the weeds.Surprising I caught and released several trout all within 10-12 inches.Saw a really nice bass about 4-5lbs caught by another boat.Didn't ask what he was using.Water depth here at it's deepest is only about 18 feet.Most of the lake is about 6-10 ft though.Water surprisingly was 44 degrees.
