Got to the lake around noonish to try out american lake for the first time this year. Fished off Harry Todd Park Dock. About 5 minutes after i got my bait in the water I had a hit. Missed. After that I had two more hits missed them both. So i started to use a bit smaller pieces of power bait and next cast i caught a nice 15" Rainbow. Just Chartreuse PB on about a 16" leader. After that the hits stopped coming i packed up and left. overall nice day outside plus my first trout of the year. good experience.
