I am relatively new to lake fishing, and this was only my third time on Lake Washington, first time in winter. Put in at noon at east Mercer Island and fished for a while immediately under the East Channel Bridge. Marked a lot of fish around the bridge supports, but failed to hook anything. I presume they were perch. Used various colors of tube jigs, small spinners and a small silver cast master. Saw two other boats who said they were also marking and not catching at the same spot. Then tried for sea-runs and trolled down the center of the lake from 0-10 feet for a while using small rapallas and marked an occasional fish but hooked nothing. Fished for bass back up north on the east side of Mercer Island just outside what I considered the milfoil line 20-25 ft. using plastic worms, diving lures, and a couple of spinner baits. Again nothing. The bottom structure looked unremarkable for most of the day so next time I am going to try Coulon Park and the south end of the lake. Got off the lake at about 5 p.m. It was a beautiful day to be on the water with no wind and air temps in mid to upper 40s.
