My family was heading up to Sun Mountain Lodge, which is on Patterson Lake Road, so I figured I'd throw in my pole. I had no idea what was in the lake, but it is a fairly high lake, so I figured cutthroat, brookies, or bows. Well, I threw my first cast with a rooster tail...had a bite within 3-4 seconds into the retrieve. I was surprised to pull in a tiny smallmouth bass...about 6 inches. Tiny, but it gave a good fight for the pounds (or lack thereof:) I only fished from the bank as I didn't take my boat up, but I'm sure there're some bigger fish out in the depths if one wants to take a boat up.
