The lake is down about 12 and a half feet now. Gestippo and I were hoping that with the flats all dried up the trout might be easy to find. Not so. It was a nice sunny day with no wind and a temp of about 12. Not a bite. Ran some perch and white crankbaits, and some spoons with no hits. The lake was froze all the way across by sportsmans cove. We decided to do some scouting of the structure that would normally be under water. Going back out after they finish lowering the lake some more with the hand gps to start marking new spots to try this year. Noticed some of the normal spots people fish, they arent right on the spot. close but not quite on it. If you manage to somehow get on the lake, watch out for deadheads right under the water. lots of wood in the channel you wouldn't know was there at full pool.
