My buddy and I hit Eloika with my two sons around 1130. We were using Swedish Pimples of all colors. The only thing they all had in common was the little red bit that was on them. Any type of green was unsuccessful on other lakes so we don't use the green ones unless nothing else is working. We tipped each of the treble hooks with a maggot and dropped in to about ten feet of water.
The perch and bass were hitting in schools. We would catch 4 or 5 a piece then nothing for about 20 mins, then 4 or 5 more. Action was fast but you ABSOLUTELY MUST keep the jigging action going. My kids two poles were propped up and stationary most of the time with no luck.
The highlight of my day came early when I hooked a monster 4.5-5.0lb large mouth. You coulda heard me whoopin all across the lake =). I thought for sure I was going to break my little ice fishing rod with the way it was bending. Can't beat that 6lb test spider wire though.
We were 100 yards out from jerrys landing and 100 yards to the right as your looking out on the lake from the docks.
I'll try and put up a pic.
