We arrived at the Sprague Lake resort, but it was not open. Went to 4 Seasons campground. We rented a boat and begin jigging by the seagull island. We used several colors and types of lures, all with earthworms tipped on the hooks. We tried jigging while floating, while anchored, and we trolled using bottom bouncer set-ups. In 9 hours of fishing we caught one 16" walleye. A fisherman on the boat dock caught one walleye 15" long. An angler and his wife who fished the east end of the lake had caught 2 walleyes yesterday (one was 24")
and had caught 2 also today.
The water was very clear, but still very cold. Sun was very bright with a slight breeze from the west. In fact the sun was so bright my uncle prawnie had a sunburned face. Don't forget the sun block!!!
We also fished around the catfish island, with no luck.
But as the old saying goes " Rather have a bad day fishing than a good day at work".
