Couldn't resist going again, the clouds cleared as I got off work (I'm off work by 10 a.m. usually), and no wind. Had to hit up the lake once more. This time my girl was off early enough to go with me. Used a combo a pop-gear with a kokanee killer tipped with the usual stuff and on the other pole, pop-gear followed by a silver Rapala, trolled at various speeds and directions/depths. Lots of hits, only one to the boat, and it was not any bigger than ten inches. But a very healthy and shiny fish none the less, released unharmed. All in all a very nice day on the water, good weather (considering the time of year) and didn't get skunked. Of course I'll go out again; but I may just hit up McMurray and/or Martha Lake after I check to see if they too are year round, makin sure to keep y'all posted....

You ever find Crappie in Lake Stevens. I was going to go Wednesday as I had the day off, but with a 3 day trip to Rufus Woods staring me down the throat, the wife said I was going Christmas Shopping instead. Also mr. Voodoochild, you still fishing Cassidy for Crappies this lake. And I know for a fact McMurray is closed.

Curado: Yeah, I used to do that when I'd no boat, or no incolination as to load up mine and go. That was almost always productive, although many were small; but I don't mind anyway. It's always fun.

Joe: I have not found Crappie in Lake Stevens; but I've also never targeted them there. When they're bitin, I'm no where near Lake Stevens; it's just too much of a madhouse with skiers, jet-skiers, etc. As for Lake Cassidy, last time I was there, it had a real bad toxic algae bloom and was nasty. This was, however, back in October (I only remember cuz I knew it was only a few days shy of the end of crawdad season and I had my pots with me). Yeah, I now know that those two lakes are seasonal now; bummer. But, Lake Martha (Warm Beach area) is open, and I will check it within the next couple weeks for sure. Next week, probably not as I'm workin six days, arrrg. Not my usual schedule, that's for sure. Oh yeah Joe, check my secret lake post to see the Crappie I got into a few weeks back. Of course, I did go to that same spot, three more times within two weeks, same conditions, water/weather, but those times, no results. Great fun.
