Took the float tube to beaver lake this morning from about 9 am until 11:30. I started slow trolling a 1/64th oz red and chartreuse tube jig tipped with a red power worm. I paddled from the launch to about the central portion of the lake zig zagging and then noticed that a couple of boats were doing really well of a little point on the Southern( I think) shoreline. I kind of stayed near that area and got my first hook up of the day at around 10. After a great fight on 2lb test I got the fish in, I think it went around 3.5lbs. I didn't get bit for a little while after that so I tried some orange power eggs and immediately hooked up but it came unbuttoned. That was my last bite of the day because I couldn't take my frozen toes any longer.
Overall it was a great experience. It rained off an on all morning but it wasn't too cold, above the water anyway. There were quite a few other boat anglers and a good number of shore anglers on both sides. One of these big guys is going to be a meal for me so I am pretty satisfied.
