I hiked into Lake Tradition with my float tube at about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The lake level is significantly down. I only fished for about two hours, but hooked into two nice fish. I started off with a floating minnow lure with no success. Then I switched to a weightless rubber worm in black. My first fish came within four casts with the worm. I was casting to the remaining green vegetation, letting the lure sink, slightly lifting my rod tip, and letting it sink again, while taking up slack. On the second drop I felt the familiar tap of a fish. I set the hook, and three minutes later was holding onto a chunky largemouth. The fish was approximately 3.5 lbs (and only a few inches shorter than the fish shown in my avatar). Last fish in of the day came the same way. This one was at most a pound, but put up a good fight. All in all, not the most productive day on a lake, but a lot of fun. Not only did I catch fish, but got to take a nice hike through the woods on a beautiful fall day.
