a late report- took some youth for an outing that was supposed to be to banks lake, but we saw a tacklebox tale with a recent review of scootney, which my family farm was right at the northern tip of, so, it was closer to tri-cities, decided to take kids there. had 12 teenagers, 4 adults. we actually took bags of frozen perch for a lakeside fish fry, in case we didn't catch anything. didn't need them. kids got into a couple of schools. they are now warmwater species hooked!!!!! all i can say, is scootney has come a long ways since i was in school. new launches, camping area, everything is nice. it has walleye, bass, perch, and the occasional monster rainbow. it also has a large whitefish fishery at the lower scootney, that is largely untapped.we used worms on the bottom, but bobber's worked, too.
