Short snd sweet. Trolled Tapps today and got a nice 44 X 20 C-P-R'd this beast. Heavier than the 21 lbs with the LxG formula. Looks like she just filled up for the fall. Great fish..got it trolling over by the high dive area working drop off adjacent to a nice 12 ft flat. Tore up my hooks pretty good. Thanks to Josh and his son for the help with the photos. Put the fish back maybe Josh's son can catch this beast too!! Great day!!

Hey I've been goin over all the musky reports for Tapps, and I might be a little bit slow, but are you all catchin the same few muskies in there? I swear I've seen the same fish in about 6 reports, you know over 40 inches, same colors as the one in this post, and the tail looks kind of beat up. Just curious.

Geez, I wonder where you got that?!? Nice fish and thanks for the invite! BTW I still need to post my 11" crappie that i hit in 22', you'd really appreciate it!! Sorry I wasn't there to help you land that beaut! Did it fight harder in the 58 degree water? (since it's a cold water fish) Also I do not believe that is the same fish that everyone else has caught. however i did catch it 7 times last year!LOL

Dang Rob, Why so bitter? Nice fish Muskyhunter. I caught 5 out of Tapps this summer, 18, 30, 36 ,41 and 44 inches. Pretty sure not the same fish.

rob G.>>>>> the muskyhunter is a great fisherman......however the fish he has caught is probably a 6yr. old fish. When did they 1st stock Tapps? i'm no mathamatician or engish professor but, he wouldn't be at Tapps with that fish if it was 01/03. I believe his batteries died and he forgot to reset the date, DUH?!? Or maybe he not even in this state? Muskyhunter are back in the mid west? Quit playing with the kids!!!! Nice fish agin, and nice post at Sportman's!!

Congrats Muskyhunter. Beautiful fish.
By the way - Isn't catch & release supposed to allow us to share the thrill of catching the same fish more than once. Who cares if it's been caught before. Does that make it less of a trophy? Not to me. I'll bet alot of mine were released by other fishermen, thankfully.
Keep up the great posts MuskyHunter.

nice fish, muskyhunter, I would sure like to take a trip to the westside to fish that lake. If anyone is interested in coming to Silver Lake I would take them out if they would take me to Tapps. Muskyhunter, a little tip that I had to learn the hard way (seven stitches in my left thumb). If you use your left hand to hold by the head go in on the left side of the gill plate not the right, it is awkward when you try to release it, and the fish go crazy and start cutting things. It hurts thinking about it. If I dont think about it when the fish is in the net, I still sometimes go for the wrong side, but my thumb immediately starts hurting and I go to the correct side. FEAR NO FISH!

Hey Phil,
Thanks for the invite..! I am definately up for that!! I am the membership director of Chapter 57, NW Tiger Pac/Muskies Inc..We all in the Chapter have been trying to figure out a time to come out that way and help get you guys involved..... You can from over there. Check out the Muskies Inc website...Check with MuskieGuy he to is from around your parts and is in the Chapter. He too is a Charter Member.I just need to get him the info or P.M. me your info and I'll get it directly to you. About the photo...well it was a bit awkward. I did pick it up from the wrong side...plus she was a bit heavier than anticipated. I was luck though..still have my digits..Been doin this awhile...kinda know what I was doing.Kinda.... was trying to hurry for the photo. Didn't want to keep the fish out of the water much longer than I already had. I was trying to do the hold the breath thing. Made it pretty close. Released her and she took off like a shot..nothing better than that !!!
Rob G,...hey bro..photo dated 1/ 09/ 2003...you know..cameras! Your probably right, some of these fish have been caught a few times..hence the Catch and Release thing. Lets others enjoy the thrill of catching these critters...I do wish they were tagged so that way the fish biologists could have the info of the times caught and their locations..since these fish are low in numbers it might help determine their ages and growth rates and when new plants could happen..my opinion. And thanks for the complement fishinislife..your not bad for a converted Bass guy if I say so myself...see yah all on the water!! Todd

Just to add to the dead battery theory...If anyone knows how and where to catch a Washington Muskie like that in January please let me know.

p.s. Especially if the fish are only 3 years old...that's a great growth rate!

The only time you're going to see skies like that during January in Washington is if you live in Kennewick. Lake Tapps is certainly not in Kennewick. If it was, PSE wouldn't have to drain it. The sun would cook all the water out.
