Me and the wifey had a few hours to kill today so we loaded up the boat and went to American Lake. From the Tillicum boat launch we headed left kinda out in deep water. First time fishing this lake and don't have a depth finder yet. We put on our power bait and half a nightcrawler with a sinker about 4 feet up the line. We would cast out about 20 yards from the boat let the sinker hit the bottom and reel in slowly. After about 10 cranks everytime they would hit it. we caught 10 like this, I don't know if trout school or what, new to that kinda fishing as well. C & R and had a great time.

Hey Jason. From the Tillicum launch, hook around that island and head south. The 1st bay past that island has an input stream which is good for trout. A little further south, you'll see some log booms for a park. Depth is about 30-40 ft depending. The SW side of those booms is very popular for trout, all seasons but summer. I've also had great luck in the cove east of the booms. Good luck! Pal

When your backing your boat down into the water is that taking a left or a right when you get your boat off of the trailer?

That's with your stern to the launch.. you might be able to get between the island and the launch but it's awful shallow. Pal
