A beautiful morning on Rattlesnake Lake, no wind clear sunny sky and the fish cooperating. Quite a few fly fishermen on the water. Trolling soft hackle flies with an intermediate line. I fish a two fly rig and had a double header: two trout at once. Most fish were between 12 - 14", healthy rainbows all of whom went aerial during the retrieve.

this is a response to mr "RAL" who reported above that he used a two fly rig, just to let you know that this is illegal in rattlesnake lake. not mutch of a fan of them smokies myself, just watch the far end of the lake for kayaks and binoculars... the fine is outrageous if you get caught doing this... i was at court for a traffic offense and saw a man go to JAIL for using a barbed hook, guess it wasn't the first time he got cought, anyways exessive punishment, god forbid you keep a chinook out of the snoqualmie...

Just to be Clear the Selective Gear Rules apply to Rattlesnake Lake and they permit multiple flies:
SELECTIVE GEAR RULES
Only unscented artifi cial fl ies or lures with one single-point, barbless hook are allowed. Up to a total of three artifi cial fl ies or lures
containing single-point, barbless hooks may be used. Bait is prohibited; fi sh may be released until the daily limit is retained. Only
knotless nets may be used to land fi sh. No one may fi sh from any fl oating device equipped with an internal combustion motor,
except where specifi cally allowed under Special Rules for individual waters. (Electric motors are now permitted under selective
gear rules). If any fi sh has swallowed the hook or is hooked in the gill, eye, or tongue, it should be kept if legal to do so.
