The weather man promised a nice fall day so I hooked up the old Bass Tracker and headed for Wooten Lake. I thought I would probably be the only angler on the lake so imagine my surprise when I saw about 30 rigs in the parking lot. Come to find out there was a meeting of the antique boat motor club and they were churning up the waters. Nice looking boats and motors and friendly people but I elected to try for some more solitude. Drove down to nearby Haven Lake but decided against launching the Tracker there in spite of having my 4 wheel drive. Very poor launch area on that lake but it does have some very nice bass in it. Plan C was to try Tee Lake which is also fairly close by up there on the hill. The launch area at Tee Lake is not exactly ideal either. It is shallow and has loose gravel. I floated the tracker off the trailer and beached it. As I was pulling the trailer out, the rear wheels of my tow rig started to spin and sink but then pulled out OK without shifting into 4 wheel drive. The weather was beautiful with clear skies, almost no wind, and warm. The fishing conditions were ideal but the catching conditions seemed to be a little less than ideal. I won't go into detail about the catch. The good part was it was a very nice day on the water, nobody yelled at me as I fished their private docks and I shot some photos for a featured lakes report which should be showing up shortly.
