Went down to Greenlake in search of Carp. I have been walking around that lake for 20 years and never seen any Carp myself, But I heard they are there and it is about the only place in King County that has reports of them. So off I went. forgot the corn so all I had was worms, fished from the north side of the lake off one of the "T" docks and ended up catching 2 trout, but no Carp. Guess I will have to go back and try another day! Fished from 4-6pm. Here is a pick of the larger of the two..

Nice catch! I live by Green lake, and go out occasionally. Try using bread dough balls for the carp!

Nice fish, atleast you got one on the otay list! My favorite baits for carp are corn and crickets... I have never caught one in western washington so good luck...

I've seen the carp there, in the early mornings near the boat house where its really shallow. Could never get them to bite on a lure, must try bait next time.

Not only is there gigantic carp in there, it also holds Muskies! I've seen both. But I wonder, what are you gonna do with that carp?

I had heard they put Muskies in there once upon a time, I also thought I heard it didn't work out so well so they got rid of them (where I heard it, who knows). but I wouldn't rule it out. When did you see them? According to the Friends of Greenlake website there are Brown & Rainbow trout, Carp, Muskie, Largemouth Bass and Channel Catfish. As far as what I am going to do with that carp...
I'm gonna take a picture with a big smile and a O-tay, let it go back to it's friends and dance a little jig. Then I'm gonna go home, post a report and the pic on the Freshwater Multi Species Contest string (in the Freshwater forum) and bask in the glory that will be mine all MINE AH HA HA HA HAAAA! If this makes no sense at all - see my other Greenlake reports and/or the forum string referenced above... ;)

I thought corn was illegal to use as bait, anybody know the status of this

I think this has come up before and it is not illegal, however, my advice would be to check the regs for official confirmation.
