Got in the water at 10:30 am and trolled a bit with a small Yozuri trout pattern diving plug on which I caught an 11" and a 12 1/2" Smallmouth and a 9" perch. As I wanted bigger game I went to a Rapala Tail Dancer TDD9 in a shad like pattern on which my best catch was a 17.5" three lb. slim gutted fellow I thought just might be a big male fish. I caught 5 in all on that plug switching rods to one with a 4" Yozuri shallow diver in shad pattern, and to another with a Lucky Craft 128 Pointer in American Shad pattern on which the biggest fish caught was 15.5",along with 2 more of 12" to 13", while the bigger Yozuri took a 13.5" & 12" fish. The Tail Dancer also took a 14" fish and three more in the 12" to to 13 " range.
I like Smallmouth so this was one of the best fishing days I've ever had.
