After my Lacamas plans fell apart, I drove up to Kress Lake to play with the trout. The browns were very active. Did the best using a dry fly and a bobber. It also kept the panfish at bay as they would attack any bait in the water before the trout got near it.
My best brown was 12" and it fell to a 2" countdown minnow that had a clear body, blue back, and orange belly. I let it sink about 5 or 6 seconds and as soon as I reeled, he blew up on it. Missed a couple more on that minnow, but it also did not interest the smaller fish very much.
All fish released unharmed. Lot of wind.
