Spent Sat and Sun on Banks Lake. Walleye Fishing is still good there. It was 44 degrees and windy on Saturday, Sunday was about 50 and raining. We were bottom bouncing with crawlers. We caught 1 18 incher trolling cranks, but every other fish was caught on worm harnesses. We caught several over 20 inches and all but 2 were released unharmed. We had a big fish fry that night. Outstanding fishing on Banks right now. Been that way since about May.

The color sometimes don't matter, sometimes it does. I have seen weekends go by where I am nailing them on Orange and another guy is doing the same on chartruse and yet another guy is catching them on dark colors. The very next day Chartruse is the hot color and they wont look at anything else. Walleyes change their minds so quick its hard to say what color is best.

joe nailed it, color isn't all that big of a deal. getting the rig in front of the fish is. You can catch a walleye on a cigarette butt if you present it to them properly.

My unlce once said they used those little red and clear strips that you tear off to open a pack of cigarettes and it worked. He isnt the kind to stretch the truth but I havent been eager enough to give that a shot. Some days it really does matter. I mean you can't help but notice that when one guy is catching them on an orange and black spinner and nobody else is, but when they all go to that same color they start catching fish. I will say this, all year it hasn't mattered. However, this last weekend, it definitely made a difference. When we all switched to the same color we all started catching fish. What color you may ask. What color indeed. Ha.

I bet you were using hot pink, hoping to catch some sort of salmon species!
