My wife and I arrived about noon for some fly fishing.
The eagles were out and the wind was not bad.
It was slow going until about 2PM then scattered surface feeding was evident. I had fished a slow sink line with the usual green marabou damsel with a GRHE as a trailer... nothing.
But switched to a floating line and a Quigley emerger (dark) and that seemed to be the answer.
I saw a few may flies emerge but the fish didn't seem to be keyed on them. I tried a Quigley with a bright white top and they avoided that like the plague. Dark colors seemed to be important. We kept 2 for breakfast and released about 15 cut throats and browns.
There were only 2 other boats on the lake.
The camp ground is now closed with the gate locked but you can still access the boat ramp.
Water surface temp was 52 degrees. ( perfect)
