Cool mornings, warm afternoons, and low water. But the fish are really hitting, and the best looking I have caught any place this year. We averaged 20 fish per day, all on a variety of flies (it didn't matter what we fished with), 12 to 18 inches, and most were 1 to 2 lb fish. It may be late in the season, but this was fly fishing that I call great!
Again we stayed at Liar's Cove. We caught most of the trout in 6 to 12 feet of water. But in deeper water, they were suspended at about the same depth. Muddlers and variations of the same produced the best (largest) fish. Lost one near the damn that had to go over 5 lbs. If you have time before the end of the season, give this lake a try.
