After a quick cruise to the end of the lake and partway back, we found a place to have our picnic and start fishing. The kids ate quickly and grabbed their poles. Within just a few casts the first Largemouth was on! A whopping 8 incher! Over the next 2 hours we managed several more carbon copies of that first one. In the end every one of the 5 kids along on this trip (and the adults) had caught a fish. This made for happy campers on the ride home. I think WDFW must have planted some largemouth fry after the last Rotenone treatment several years ago. There's no way that there could be this many similar sized fish otherwise. In a few more years when they finish growing up this is going to be a quality bass fishery.

Thats a new one for me. Never heard of bass in Badger -- but I like it!

Small pumpkinseed sunfish are now present in Badger, too. I doubt any of these plants were by the WDFW.

I watched a guy catch a largemouth of about a pound last year at the launch. I'd expect another Rotenone treatment in the next few years.
