Up fairly early and fishing solo on Devereaux by 6:30 AM. Winds were calm and fishing conditions were almost ideal. I was in my small boat because Devereaux is a "No Gas Engines" lake. About the 3rd of 4th cast I hooked a small bass on a Rapala. I was surprised, it was the first small bass I have caught on this lake for at least a couple of years. Most fish have been between 3 and 4 pounds. No other boats or anglers on the lake. Fishing conditions were great but the "catching" conditions were a little less than ideal. About all I can say about that is I wasn't skunked.
