I was meeting the wife down at Marina Park (she had a party there) so I had about an hour before she would show up. So, I left work a bit early and headed over to see if I could find anything under the docks. It was sunny, warm, and a bit windy so the water was a bit choppy. The dock was very busy, so when I saw that I figured there'd be no way I'd catch anything. But I made the trip so I thought I'd just go ahead.
I started in the middle row of docks with a weightless Yum dinger (white with black flakes). It just didn't look right in the water, and nothing was happening, so I switched to a shallow running rapala (the only one I have) and went to the furthest row of docks. There was no action, so I switched to DS on a "Mardi Gras" colored Yum Dinger (green with purple and yellow speckles). I started at the end of the second row of docks and didn't get any action. I made my way to the end, then went to the end of the first and dropped it on the sunny side of the dock. I could barely feel the strike, but when I did a very light set, I felt this guy. Small, very light fight. I was surprised that he was even around that dock since there was so much activity.
I did notice that there's an apartment complex that's just over the water near the park. I'd bet there's something there, but I lack the boat to even try. I'll have to look for more docks I can access around there. It was kind of fun.
