Thought I'd drive the two hours from Bremerton to Silver Lake in Cowlitz County based on all the great reports I've seen on this site. Unfortunately, it started raining pretty much as soon as I got there at 1230 and didn't stop until about 6pm. The fishing was pretty slow...I only managed a half-dozen bass in about 7 hours. The largest was a solid two-pounder, that put a pretty good fight for its size. The rest were a pound or less. All were caught on a green with gold flake Sweet Beaver, Texas-rigged with a 1/4oz weight, along one of the few stretches of bank without 30 feet or so of lilypads in front of it. I might be back one more time this season before it gets cold...though I'll probably have to really convince myself.
