I took my family camping at Lake Conconully over the weekend. The state park was full of deer. You can't drive through town without seeing them. On Friday afternoon we went to the North end of the lake, anchored in 15' of water, and suspended worms just off the bottom. My boys caught some bass and had a lot of fun.
Later we trolled back toward the launch and only caught one small bow. We used wedding rings behind ford fenders. We also used power bait off the bottom in 15 - 20' of water.
I talked to other folks and they said fishing was slower than usual for trout. This last week they stocked the lake with small bows and lowered the lake two feet.
The next morning, we fished a few hours and only had a strike so we were done. We headed for the stampede. The boys loved the rides, the pow wow, the suicide race, and maybe next year we'll go to the rodeo.
