Decided to give this little lake a try. Had heard of the panfish potential so went with ultra light gear. No boats on the water and looked like rain. Started near the little island fishing in front of the lily pads. Could see a few schools of minnows being harrassed by what looked like crappie but unable to get them to hit. Used micro jigs but no luck. Decided to search for some bluegill. Found a quiet pocket of logs and lily pads so I set up my rig for worm/bobber fishing. Flipped this into some of the pockets and immediately tied into some bluegill. Some were small but caught a couple that were bigger than my hand. Decent bluegill and lots of fun on 1lb. line. Did catch and release for about an hour catching probably 30 fish before calling it a day.
Will be back and find a way to catch some of the crappie. Also hear there are perch in the lake so that will also be on my agenda. if you fish here yourself I would advise you use very light line. One.... it will help you catch more fish and two... it is a blast no matter what size the fish are.
