Lake Washington SBM part 2. Took my son Matt fishing in the Mercer Island area. We tried the shoreline south of Luther Burbank Park first. Too many weeds, but we did manage one 11 1/2" SMB on a diving plug. At 8pm we moved to our spot to concentrate on drop shotting 4" WCCT and roboworm finesse worms. The action was dead slow until 8:30 when my rod doubled over with a fish of obvious quality. A great battle ended with a 20" solid SMB in the boat, my personal best by far for SMB. Caught in about 22 ft of water. We caught another 3 smaller fish. 9pm was a hot time for these ones. Called it a night at 9:45. Poor Matt didn't get bit once. He lost his focus and interest even after the big guy came in. The fish weren't biting as aggressively as the last time I was out, it took a bit more focus, which my teenager just doesn't have (at least for fishing, LOL).
