Went out to Tapps the last two days. I caught about 12 smallies, but none of the size I have been seeing on other posts. It was my first time actually fishing Tapps from a boat for smallies, so it took me a while to figure it out. I trolled Bankers Island and driftwood point to no avail. Finally I started catching them on a hula grub, but I had to fish it really slow. It definitely would have helped to have a fish finder, but I did ok.

The biggest one I caught on Thursday was about 13", but today I caught about 3 that size off of my grandma's dock on the cold side. All I did was take a hula grub and drop it off the side of the dock and jig. We caught them all in a matter of five minutes. I also caught one 14" on the road that goes to interlake island.

You have the touch, all the electronics in the world won't put fish in the boat , keep doing exactly what your doing now. The time on the water is what it takes to catch fish. You have the fish figured out, fish close to the docks with something slow.

Thanks Bill, that picture you posted of the tiger eating the smallie is amazing.
