Spent a hot day on Banks Lake and the weather was not the only thing that was hot.
Casting lipless crank baits up against the rip rap next to the road produced well for me.
Fishing stayed hot until about noon and the died off till about 5 or so then it picked up again. Must have been the heat of the day that put them down. I used a YoZuri crankbait 3/8 ounce in shad colors the other good one was a Rattl trap in crawfish colors. 40 smallmouth to the boat ranging in size from 4" to 4 lbs.
The only bummer to the day was I lost the cowling on my 1972 9.5 Johnson on the way home
anyone know where I can get a new cowling for an old outboard? Have looked online this weekend and no luck.
Looks like I might have found the excuse to get a new motor. Tight lines all.
